Laura Mae (Moose) Burchfield

 Laura Mae Moose Burchfield “Coot”, 70 of Robbinsville NC, went to her eternal home on Friday December 15th, 2023, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

She was the daughter of the late Tom and Ethel Johnson Moose.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Milburn Burchfield in April of 2014 and her brothers, Gardener Moose, Toby Moose, Cole Moose, Earl Moose, Jasper Moose, Herman "Pud" Moose, Jacob Bowman; sisters, Evelyn Wheeler, Judy Adams; grandson, Nick Burchfield and granddaughter, Ivy Burchfield.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Alvin) Wachacha of Robbinsville NC, Junior (Donna) Burchfield of Robbinsville NC, Leslie (Julius) Taylor of Conover NC, Jeanette Carver and Diane Hartsoe of Robbinsville NC; brother, Charles Moose and sister, Diane Whitt both of Robbinsville NC. She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Townson Smith Chapel. The Reverends Teddy Silvers and Noah Williams will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Burchfield-Key cemetery on Moose Branch Road, where she will be laid to rest by her loving husband Milburn. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the chapel prior to the service.
