Laura Mae Carpenter Phillips “Ma”, 82, of Robbinsville, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday August 7th, 2023, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a lifelong member of Sweetgum Baptist Church. She was the epitome of a virtuous woman (Proverbs 31:10-31). Laura was truly a Godly example of a mother. She Truly loved Jesus and walked for him always.
She was loved by all that knew her. She was Ma of the county. How much is a name worth? The bible says it's to be chosen above great riches. The name Laura Mae Phillips speaks of grace, love, patience and laughter. The example she has left will be hard to walk in, but worth it. She was a Ma to many children in Graham County. To her family, she will always be remembered as the example of love.
She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late George and Maggie Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Emmett Phillips and their infant daughter Rebecca; her sisters Emogene Phillips and Martha Reel; and her son-in-law Butch Collins.
