Lavada Carver Millsaps, age 75, of Robbinsville, NC, passed away on October 18, 2025, at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
Lavada was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Grady and Flonnie Carver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Shag” Millsaps, who passed away in October 2018. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her son, Charlie Millsaps, and her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Todd McKeehan, all of Robbinsville, NC. Lavada is also survived by her granddaughters and their husbands: Emily and Andrew Patterson of Robbinsville, NC, and Abbey and Charlie Branch of Walnut Cove, NC. She was the proud great-grandmother of four: Casen and Cambrie Branch, and Moriah and Madden Patterson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Reverends Jimmy Millsaps and Todd McKeehan will officiate. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Townson-Smith Chapel prior to the service.
