Linda Gail Buttram, age 68, of Beckley, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 1, 2023.
Born on January 29, 1955, in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of Juanita Marie Stiles and Ernest Avery stiles, Sr., both of Robbinsville, NC.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She served faithfully beside her beloved husband, Kim Buttram in various ministry and vocational roles until an accident in 2012 left him incapacitated. From that time until his passing in 2018, she devoted herself to caring for her husband by providing him with full-time skilled nursing care.
Linda was a member of Providence Bible Church, where her husband was a founding pastor.
She faithfully attended there until her passing. In earlier years, Linda was a pioneer in the homeschool movement who provided a rich education for her six children. She became a treasured encourager and faithful advisor for other families in home education.
Linda was also a great friend to many people. She loved to host guests and put on parties. She was a spunky lady who loved to laugh. She had an infectious affection for Jesus and, because of her devotion to him, loved to care for others in her life. She had a big heart and was always eager to help friends and strangers alike, even when her declining health became an increasing challenge. Linda was very optimistic and loved to dream big. She was determined, resilient, and encouraging. She could always see the hand of God at work for good in every situation, even amidst painful trials.
Linda also loved to sing, whether by herself as she tended her flower garden, or with Kim and her children. She would sing from her heart with a big smile on her face.
Linda was beautiful, faithful, and devoted. Her life reflected the light and love of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her children; Josh Buttram and wife, Carolyn, of Eden Prairie, MN, Jodi Buttram of Beckley, WV, Jessi Smith and husband, Josiah, of Beaver, WV, Jack Buttram and wife, Sarah, of Longview, TX, Anthony Perkins of Mullens, WV, Alyssa Buttram of Beckley, WV, and Andrea Erazo and husband Bryan, of Temecula, CA; five siblings: Gloria Hardy and husband, Dean, of Robbinsville, NC, Loretta Craven and husband Gene, of Carthage, NC, Angie Old, and husband Keith, of Moyock, NC, Ernest Stiles, Jr., and wife Melinda, of Robbinsville, NC, and Jackie Wilson, and husband Rex, of Robbinsville, NC; fourteen grandchildren: Peter, Elijah, Lucy, Betsy, Maria, Ezra, Ruthie, Silas, Evanthia, Henry, Lulu, Apollo, Athena and Kylan.
