Linda Smith Lofty

We regretfully announce the passing of Linda Smith Lofty of Robbinsville, NC on February 4th, 2022. Linda was surrounded by her family prior and upon her passing at Mission Hospital in Asheville NC.

Linda was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother to her family. She was brought into this world on April 8th, 1948, to the late Georgia and Lewis Smith of Robbinsville, North Carolina.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, Lewis C. Smith, and Georgia Rogers Smith; her husband Ray Lofty; her brothers and sister; Leroy Smith, Billy Smith, James Smith, Ricky Lofty and Carolyn Sellers.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Lofty (Denise Greeson) of Robbinsville, NC, Judy Lofty (Brett McCollister) of Robbinsville; Granddaughters Christy Lofty (BJ Heinzer) of Robbinsville, NC., Katy White (Austin) of Robbinsville, NC., Candice Lofty (Tevin Smoker) of Robbinsville, NC., Emily Millsaps of Colorado., Josie Tanner of Cartersville, Ga., her siblings, Marshall Smith (Sherry) of Colorado., Marie Crisp of Robbinsville, NC., Willa Mae Eller of Robbinsville, NC. and Jean Gibby of Robbinsville, NC and her close to heart pride and joys, great grand babies Kaley, Macey, Chrisleigh, Bentley, Raylee, Landon, Chase, Cayson and Gage.

Linda was a very caring person that always looked out for everybody. She never met a stranger and knew just about everyone. Linda loved to sing and play her guitar in her spare time. She loved telling stories of the past and could explain everything in so much detail. Her love for Jesus was expressed daily. She spent her last few years being a dedicated grandmother to her grand babies whom she loved all dearly.

Services will be held February 8, 2022, at the Townson Smith Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will take place from noon to 2pm with the Funeral immediately following.  Burial will follow in the old Mother Cemetery.  The Reverend Harold Beasley will officiate.
