Louise Crisp Orr, 83, of Robbinsville, NC passed away in the early morning hours of October 21, 2024. Louise was born to James Boyd Crisp and Oleta George Crisp on October 24, 1940.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Maurice Orr. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Maurice Orr, her brothers, Butch Crisp and Philip Jenkins, sisters, Frances Crisp Everleigh, Tamala “Tammy” Crisp Orr, and her brother-in-law, Robert Everleigh.
Louise leaves behind her loving family including her children and their spouses, Son, Gary Orr and his wife Martha of Williamsburg, VA, daughter Suzanne Orr Hyde and her husband Mitch of Robbinsville, NC; 4 grandsons, Joshua Hyde (Lauren), Luke Hyde, Landon Orr (Sara), Cameron Orr; granddaughter, Katie Hyde Cocolin (Nate), and 6 great grandchildren. Louise is also survived by her brother, Mitch Crisp and wife Dianne of Seneca, SC; Aunts, Shirley Crisp, Mary Ruth Shuler; Uncle, Ralph Crisp Sr., brother-in-law, Robert Orr and his wife Kay, brother-in-law, Mike Orr and several nieces and nephews.
Louise worked for Wachovia Bank in both Robbinsville and Andrews before becoming the office manager at the inception of the Tallulah Valley Health Center where she worked for over 30 years before retiring. She served on several boards including the hospital board for Harris Regional Hospital. Louise was an active member of First Baptist Church of Robbinsville for many years where she taught the youth and sang in the choir. Later, she and her husband Maurice were part of the founding membership of Grace Fellowship Church. Louise’s life was one of inspiration and strength as she bravely lived for over 25 years with Parkinson’s Disease.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Bryson Senior Living for their care of Louise during the past 4 years.
Louise is now with her Heavenly Father and has been reunited with her husband and her son as she has longed for. We praise God for his mercy and enduring love. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8.
A celebration of Louise’s life will be announced at a later date where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and celebrate the beautiful impact she had on their lives. Louise’s legacy will live on in the lives of those who loved her. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Orr family.
