Obituary

Madalyn Skiles passed away, Thursday, April 20, 2023, in her home surrounded by loved ones after her valiant battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Jean Hinterleiter Hartsock.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Skiles; son, William Artrip and his spouse Marlene, daughters, Lisa Jaco and her spouse Pat, and Emily Skiles all of Robbinsville, NC; brother, Ray Hartsock with his spouse Sherrie of Texas, as well as her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and over 115 foster children.

Madalyn always saw the world through rose-colored glasses and lived to serve the Lord.  She dedicated her life to helping others, whether they were on the journey to sobriety, in the foster care program or anything in between, she was there.  She has touched many lives and is loved by all.  She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, May 5, 2023, at Lone Oak Baptist Chruch. The Reverend Noah Crowe will officiate.  Madalyn loved bright colors, so please feel free to be bright in your attire as you join us to celebrate her life.
