Mary Ellen (Dockery) Mehaffey

Mary Ellen Mehaffey, 91 of the Mill Creek Circle Community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

          She was a native of Cherokee county and the daughter of the late Hill and Mae Jones Dockery.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dean, Boyd, Kendall, Chuck, Ronald, Carroll, Junior Dockery, and Edna Mae Cross.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Mehaffey in December of 1996.

          She is survived by her son Kenneth Mehaffey of Robbinsville, NC and daughter, Linda Yonce and her husband David of Andrews, NC.  She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

          Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverend Tim Dockery will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 till 1:00 pm at the Chapel prior to the service.
