Mary Margaret (Myers) Orr

Mary Margaret Orr passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

          She was born June 13, 1942, to the Late Everette and Kate Garrison Myers and in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Perry Millsaps, daughters, Debrah Carpenter (Jack), Michelle Samples, Pamela Patterson (Conway); grandchildren, Shannon Millsaps, Bobby Millsaps, Christopher Orr, and Felipe Tello.

          Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and beloved friend to all who knew her.  When she was able, she loved working in her flower garden.

          She is survived by her husband, D. L. Orr; daughter, Jennifer Dockery (Allen) of Robbinsville, NC; sons, Patrick Orr (Angela) of Robbinsville, NC, Jonathan Orr (Barbara) of Maryville, TN; sisters, Brenda Howell (Johnny) of Robbinsville, NC, Linda Jones (Donald) of Andrews, NC; brother, Dinky Myers (Sandra) of Robbinsville, NC; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and numerous close family and friends.

          Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Max Turpin, Phillip Helton, and James Blevins will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 2:00 pm Thursday at the Chapel prior to the service.
