Mildred Adams Obituary

Mildred Adams, 86, of Robbinsville, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, surrounded by her devoted children.

Born December 15, 1938, to the late Willie Belle Guffey; Mildred was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and dedicated community member.  She was a longtime church member and her faith in Christ was central to her life, and her commitment to the Lord inspired those around her.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Adams, infant daughter, Angela Adams, and grandchildren, Ricky Adams, Dusty Sellers, Nahala Bree Evans and Logan Millsaps.

Mildred and her husband Vincent shared many wonderful years raising a large and loving family. She was the proud Mother of Michael Adams (Susan), Marvin Adams (Gail), Brenda Lee (Randy), Darrell Adams (Tonya), Darlene Lovingood (Clark), James Adams, Dianne Wiggins (Dale), David Adams (Felicia), Aileen Evans (Duane), and Barry Adams (Angie).

She also cherished her grandchildren; Brent Adams, Calvin Adams, Cissy Birchfield, Travis Adams, Natasha Williams, Stephanie Martinez, Ashley Adams, Brandon Sellers, David Lovingood, Sara Crisp, Jake Wiggins, Jeremy Wiggins, Dalton Wiggins, Colby Adams, Chris Adams, Josh Evans, Jesse Evans, Kelsey Krizan, Mason Evans, Collin Evans, Willie Adams, Matthew Adams, and Kaylie Adams.

Mildred lived a full life with a vast list of accomplishments. She worked hard at home and in the workplace, working in textile plants, Stanley Furniture, and commercial farming. Mildred left the workforce to raise her growing family. While at Stanley Furniture, Mildred returned to college at age 55 and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education at the age of 60. Mildred had a brilliant mind and a work ethic that was unmatched and was admired by all that knew her. Mildred served the Lord with diligence and great devotion. Her most significant accomplishment was her children; and she cherished being called Mom.

Mildred’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by her family and community, but her faith and love will be carried forward by those who survive her. Her children believed that she had given them the greatest gift anyone could give another person: her belief in them.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Reverend Eric Sellers will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Carver Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12:00 until 1:00 pm, Friday at the Chapel prior to the service.

Townson-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Adams family.
