Randy Jordan, 57 of the Sweeten Creek Community of Robbinsville, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his residence.
Randy was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Ted and Reba Phillips Jordan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Melissa Shuler Jordan, and his sons, Shuler Storm Jordan and Hayden Stone Jordan all of Robbinsville, NC. Randy is also survived by his sister, Joy Orr of Robbinsville, NC, and his brothers and their spouses, Ronnie and Phyllis Jordan of Redlands, CA and Andy and Debi Jordan of Candler, NC; nieces and nephews, Josh Jordan and his spouse Jill, Kayla Jordan Caudill and her spouse Josh, Dudley Orr and his spouse Donna, and Dusty Orr. He was also blessed with two sister in-laws, Ann Laughter and Jade Carver, and their families, as well as a number of great nieces and nephews.
Randy began his career in the construction industry in 1987 following in his father’s path. He started as an operator and worked his way up to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Phillips and Jordan, Inc. From 2002 to 2006, Randy also served as a County Commissioner in Graham County, NC. In 2013, Randy began building businesses whose specialties include land clearing, disaster response, site work, rock quarries, right of way mowing, litter removal and steel fabrication. During his career, Randy managed over $1 billion worth of projects, including Hurricane Katrina Cleanup in New Orleans, LA, 2011 Alabama Tornado Recovery in various locations in AL, 2011 Joplin Tornado Cleanup in Joplin, MO, and the processing of debris from the World Trade Center Attack in 2001 in New York, NY.
Randy enjoyed spending time with his family, his dog Ellie, and watching sports. He will always be remembered for going out his way for his family and for his work family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Cedar Cliff Baptist Church. The Reverend Daniel Stewart and David Matheson will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Church prior to the service.
