Rene (Brooks) Roper

Rene Brooks Roper, 56, of Topton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Benalee Day Brooks and was a member of Rowlands Creek Baptist Church.

Rene is survived by her husband of 22 years, Bobby Dale Roper; her daughters, Carla Horton (Brian), and Anna Newton, all of Andrews, NC; her sons, Madison Pressley of Georgia, and Bobby Roper, Jr. (Amanda) of Bryson City, NC; her maternal grandmother, Nell Day of Robbinsville, NC; and her brothers, Jeffrey Brooks of Georgia, and Jamie Brooks of Andrews, NC.  She has 8 grandchildren, Dalton Hooper, Paige Hooper, Jarred Horton, Jamison Pressley, Connor Newton, Haven Newton, Jacob Horton, and Edward Roper.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 18, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Robbinsville, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Townson-Smith Funeral Home to assist with expenses.

Due to the risk of exposure to COVID 19, face coverings and social distancing will be required by those in attendance at the Graveside service.
