Reo C. Hooper

Reo C. Hooper, age 95 of the Eller Branch community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital in Murphy, NC.

          He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Jack and Belle Lovin Hooper.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Wilson Hooper; brother Neo Hooper,  sister, Onita “Needer” Smith; and grandchildren, Teresa Lail and Clifford Lail Jr.

          Reo was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

          He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Lana Hooper of Robbinsville, NC, Clark and Donice Hooper of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughters and sons-in-law, Lidy and Kenneth Orr of Candler, NC, Rosa Lee and Claude Shuler, Sandy and Marvin Rutherford both of Robbinsville, NC; and sister, Neone Adams of Robbinsville, NC.  He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

          Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother Cemetery where Military Rites and Flag Presentation will be conducted by the NC National Guard Honor Guard, the Carringer-Webster VFW Post #8635 and the Eller-Rogers American Legion Post #192.

          The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Chapel prior to the service.
