Richard Dale Eller, Sr

Richard Dale Eller, Sr., 64, of Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. 

A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late David Hugh and Irene Sawyer Eller.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Eller Williams, and his brothers, Rev. Mike Eller and David Eller. 

Richard was a man who loved God.  He was dedicated to his family and always made his wife’s well-being a priority.  When he spoke, his voice was almost musical. 

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Hooper Eller; his daughter, Kim Eller of Hendersonville, NC; his sons, Rick Eller of Hickory, NC, and Nick Eller of Mill Spring, NC; and his brother, Keith Eller of Robbinsville, NC.  He has 5 grandchildren whom he loved dearly.  He was a special uncle to several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.  Richard was the rock that reunited his extended family. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, August 16, 2021, at Townson-Smith Funeral Home.  Reverend Daniel Stewart will officiate.  Burial will follow at Lower Sawyers Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Chapel, prior to the service. 

Due to the risk of exposure to COVID 19, facial coverings are required for those attending the visitation and funeral service.
