Roy Horrace Sherrill, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 77 in St. Augustine, FL.
He was born on February 5, 1949, to the late Mike and Irene Mack Sherrill and raised in the Tallulah Community of Robbinsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Gail Sherrill in 2019, and his brother, Claude Sherrill.
Roy always felt that it was a distinguished honor to serve his country and he did so by serving in the United States Marines Corp. He also worked most of his life in the construction industry, primarily working throughout the Southeastern United States.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather; and a dedicated Christian and humble servant of his Lord. Roy left a lasting impression for his integrity, work ethic, and his humility.
He is survived by his children, Shannon Sherrill (Joyce) Bushnell, FL, Crystal Waldroup (Rocky) of St. Augustine, FL, Wesley Sherrill (Michelle) of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Abby Waldroup, Zack Waldroup (Bayli), Brendan Sherrill (Morgan), Logan Sherrill, Josh Holloway (Sasha), Jacob Holloway (Savannah); great grandchildren, Gatlin, Granger, and Gillie Holloway, Hermione Sampson, and Carolina Inez Waldroup. He is also survived by his siblings, Floyd Sherrill, Sue Clark (Billy), Linda Eller (Brian), and Lib Lane (Jeffery) all of Robbinsville, NC.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
