Shirley (McKeldrey) Knighton

Shirley McKeldrey Knighton, age 72 of Robbinsville, NC went to her heavenly home on January 22, 2023, at Mission Health, in Asheville, NC.

          She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Edd and Jean Evans McKeldrey.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie McKeldrey, sister, Dot Satterfield, and her step son Erroll Knighton.

          She leaves behind her loving husband, Jimmy Ray Knighton; daughter, Lynette Crisp Anderson; granddaughter, Meghan Anderson Phillips (Josh), great granddaughters, Zaelyn and Raelee Phillips; Step sons, Tony Crisp (Donna), Heath Knighton, Doug Knighton (Lisa); step daughter, Andi Knighton Hirsh; and step grandchildren, Stacey Knighton, Jasper Knighton, Tanner Edwards, Colby Edwards, and Tyler Hirsh.

          Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Dana Dockery and Jimmy Millsaps will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Old Mother Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 2:00 pm Thursday at the Chapel prior to the service.
