Tammy (Stewart) Buchanan

Tammy Stewart Buchanan, 66 of the Bert’s Creek Community passed away at her home peacefully into the arms of her savior on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Tammy was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Ralph and Maggielee Stewart.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her son, Stewart Buchanan, her grandson, Peyton “Gus” Buchanan, her stepfather Eldon Crisp, her brothers, Jay Stewart and Maurice Stewart, and sisters, Carol Crisp, Roma Hipp, and Claudia Coulter.

Tammy worked for many years as a paramedic for Graham County before pursuing a career in nursing, she had a true heart for helping others. Tammy lived life to the fullest, she dedicated her life to her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her greatest treasure, and she spent her life nurturing and supporting them with unwavering love. Tammy was a devoted mother and grandmother, but most importantly she loved the Lord. Tammy was a member of Cedar Cliff Baptist Church where she raised her family and played the piano for many years.

Tammy is survived by her three sons Brandon Buchanan (Rachel), Trint Buchanan (Misty), and Chevron Buchanan (Catrina) all of Robbinsville. Grandsons Dayne Buchanan (Hollie), Brock Buchanan, Zander Buchanan, Kash Buchanan, and Abel Buchanan. Granddaughters Dayleigh Millsaps (Aaron), Kazeleigh Buchanan, Taylor Oquendo (Josh), Khaygan Buchanan, and Addy Buchanan. Tammy also had four great grandchildren Hardyn and Peyton Millsaps, Adah Buchanan, and Ayla Oquendo who she cherished deeply. She is also survived by her sister, Jackie Newsome.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday August 24, 2025, at Cedar Cliff Baptist Church. The Reverends Daniel Stewart and Mickey Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Carver Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Buchanan, Trint Buchanan, Chevron Buchanan, Dayne Buchanan, Brock Buchanan, Zander Buchanan, Kash Buchanan, and Abel Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be Dawson Fuller, Aaron Millsaps, Michael Ledford, Trey Howell, Kayce Brock, and Jackson Norris.

The family will receive friends from 12 till 2:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
