Theresa Ellen (Matthews) Chamberlain

Theresa Ellen Matthews Chamberlain passed away, Tuesday, February 21, 2023, peacefully at the Elizabeth House Hospice Center in Hendersonville, NC after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71.

          She was born on September 3, 1951, to the late Owney and Ellen Matthews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband and soulmate of 45 years, Richard Chamberlain in 2021 and her son Rick Badala in 2006.

     Theresa was brought up on a farm in Odessa, NY.  She enjoyed farming and had a lot of compassion for animals.  Theresa delivered mail until meeting her husband.  After meeting the love of her life, her and Richard began to travel the world enjoying every moment of their travels and time together.  After traveling they had a home in the Adirondacks and North Carolina that they enjoyed very much.

          She made many friends world over and while she was living in Robbinsville, she made friends that became very close and were very special to her.  They were a very big help to her and her family during her illness and the family would like to thank them for the kindness and compassion shown to Theresa.

          She is survived by her daughter, Roxane and granddaughter, Alyssa of Horseheads, NY; brother, Ronald Matthews of Montour Falls, NY; cousin, Rose Scott of Troy, NY; daughter-in-law, Theresa Badala, and sister-in-law, Joyce Babuka, and many extended family members.  She is also survived by her special pets, Susie, Chance, Baxter and her chickens that gave her so much comfort.

          A Private Memorial Service is planned for a later date with her family in New York.
