Virda Lois Myers Elliott, 95, made her heavenly journey on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Graham Healthcare Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2016. Virda was the daughter of the late Jake and Vina Myers of Yellow Creek Community, Robbinsville, NC in which she was the matriarch and the oldest of 13 children. Virda was married to the late Howard Elliott of Robbinsville for 41 years before his passing in 1985. Virda, along with her late husband Howard, owned and operated an old General Store in the Sweetwater Community for many years which included a USPS office, dry goods, groceries and feed. Later in the late 70’s Virda and Howard bought a second general store in the Atoah/Snowbird Community. Virda was an active member of her church and community and was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star. Virda in her free time enjoyed fishing, traveling and her family. Virda loved her family dearly and she was the person who held everyone together. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Elliott and son, Terry Elliott. Surviving is her daughter, Barbara and husband Jeff Aldridge. Grandchildren: Julia and husband, Mike Badalucca, Amanda and husband, Blake Orr, and Jesse Aldridge and wife, Haley. Great grandchildren: Destiny Aldridge, Bladen Badalucca, Skye Badalucca, Ayson Badalucca, Maddox Orr and Carver Orr. Great great granddaughter: Rayn Gantt. Virda was also preceded in death by her siblings; infant brother, Howell Roger Myers, Lola Myers Davison, Zelma Lee Myers Gosselin, Lorraine Myers George, Walter (W.D.) Myers, J.B. Myers, C.F. Myers, Hubert Myers, and Carl Myers. Siblings surviving are Archie Myers of Bakersfield, California, Lou Ellen Myers Royals of Griffith, Georgia, and Dennis Rogers of Tellico, TN. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday. December 16, 2021 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm prior to the service. The Reverends G.D. Phillips and Larry Grindstaff will officiate. Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 17, 2021 in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
