Virges Carpenter

Virges Carpenter, age 87 of the Hares Creek Community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Friday, November 15, 2019 at his residence.

          He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Hardy and Aloe Phillips Carpenter.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Carpenter and his sister, Alwayne Gee.

          He is survived by his wife, Izetta Styles Carpenter; son Randy Carpenter of Robbinsville, NC; daughter and her husband, Phyllis and Bruce Brooks of Robbinsville, NC; brothers, Bluford  Carpenter of Peachtree, NC, Clinton Carpenter, Avery Carpenter, David Carpenter all of Robbinsville, NC; sisters, Betty Crisp and Mary Rogers both of Robbinsville, NC.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

          Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Patrick O’Dell and Darrin Self will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 2:00 pm Sunday at the Chapel prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery.
