Vonna Jade (Pressley) Donaldson

Vonna Jade Pressley Donaldson, beloved wife of Steven Donaldson, was born December 26th, 1982 and passed away in the company of those who loved her July 21st, 2023. Vonna and Steven lived in Clay County. Steven would sing to her, "You Are the Joy of My Life." She was loved. She is the beloved daughter of Linda Phillips Campbell, Billy Jay Pressley of Robbinsville NC and step-father Euclid Pearson Campbell of Hiwassee Dam, NC. She was the beloved baby of her big brothers, Fitchue Wayne Morrison (Angela) of East Bend, NC, Frank Atlas Brooks (April) of Kernersville, NC, John Weldon Brooks (Susan) of Robbinsville, NC, and Billy Zebulon Pressley of Robbinsville, NC. Linda had always prayed for a baby girl, but had all sons until Vonna made her appearance. She was the most beautiful creature Linda had ever seen and the only name worthy of this perfect and sought after daughter was Vonna, the name of Linda’s mother. She is survived by her beloved children Olivia Verner, Riley Kendrick, Wesson Kendrick, Leeland Kendrick and grandchild Austin Martin as well as her beloved three stepchildren Cetera, Jesse, and Jimmy Donaldson. She is also survived by a large family descendant from the late Frank & Vonna Grant Phillips and Johnny & Nellie Roselle Waldroup Pressley. Family includes Myra and Lonnie Waldroup, Ashley Waldroup Satterfield, of Robbinsville, NC. Amber (William) Watkins of Robbinsville, NC, Conor Watkins of Robbinsville, NC, Margrethe Elise Borchgrevink (Pace) and Eli Borchgrevink of Galax, VA. John (Megan) Pressley, Michael Pressley, Cooper Pressley and Millie Pressley of Spartanburg, NC. Paige (Brandon) Jones, Roman Jones, Tucker Jones, Emily Jones, Lloyd Pressley and David Pressley, all of Robbinsville, NC; Charles Pressley (deceased), Kenny (Glenda) Pressley of Blairsville, GA; and her aunts, Shirley Hannah (Dock) and Helen Pressley, both of Dawsonville, GA; Joyce Miller (Michael), Lois Satterfield (David), and Brenda Powell (John), all of Robbinsville, NC. She is also survived by her lifelong friend Tori Shields Elrod of Hayesville, NC. Nieces and nephews include Michael Morrison, Brittani Morrison and John Morrison (Fitchue). Alyssa Pressley and Hailey Pressley (Zebulon). Michael Brooks, Sonya Brooks, Allison Brooks and Sarah Brooks (Weldon). Aidan Brooks and Logan Brooks (Atlas). Vonna was preceded in death by her father, Billy Jay Pressley, her beloved aunt, Brenda Phillips Pressley, and her uncle Earl Max Phillips. We are a very close family and Vonna will be missed dearly.
