Willa Mae Waldroup, 91 of the East Buffalo Community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Delia Carringer Orr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Waldroup and her son Gary M. Waldroup; she was also preceded in death by her sister, Edna Phillips, and her brothers, Pearlie, Dee, Ronald, Golman, Delmas, Donald, and Vincent.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Kim and David Matheson of Robbinsville, NC, Ricky and Nancy Waldroup of Robbinsville, NC, Mitch and Melinda Waldroup of Andrews, NC, and Rocky and Crystal Waldroup of St. Augustine, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Maudie Sue and Vernon Burke of Robbinsville, NC; and her former daughter in law, Diane Rogers Parker of GA. She has 8 grandchildren, Shawn Colvard, Eric Waldroup, Trevor Waldroup, Nicole Gibson, Zack Waldroup, Skyler Matheson, Karlyn Matheson, Abby Waldroup; and 10 great grandchildren, Kanan Waldroup, Caroline Colvard. Kelsey Waldroup, Cade Colvard, Konner Waldroup, Addie Waldroup, Lily Gibson, Jackson Waldroup, Lincoln Gibson, and Berkley Matheson.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Lone Oak Baptist Church of which she was a member. The Reverends Mickey Stewart, Scott Roper and David Matheson will officiate. Burial will follow the Service in the Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 2:00 pm at the Church prior to the service.
